The big day is coming. Two and a half year old Adison is sleeping at Grandma's this Saturday night; and on Sunday morning . . .we're off to church and Adison's first visit to Sunday School.
I'm the one who has been looking forward to this for a couple of weeks now. I used to love Sunday School when I was a little girl and when I was older, I taught the little ones at the church I attended. When I had my own two children, they attended the Sunday School where I currently go to church. Now it's Adison's turn! She's been to church with me but this will be something new for her.
Sunday is Rally Day - the Sunday School year's beginning after a long summer vacation. And what a beginning it will be! Erin's (one of my friends daughters) girl scout troop "spruced up" the Sunday School rooms and none of us have seen them yet. This was done as the project to earn their Silver Award. So, during our worship service when the children are announced and go downstairs to their classrooms, we'll all be going for the "ribbon cutting". The Girl Scout Troop will be there and we'll have a special coffee hour too! So, the big day is coming.
That sounds awesome! :-) I take all my boys to church regularly - but my mom always loves when she gets to take my youngest with her - she is his age Sunday School teacher at her church. Something special about getting to teach your own children/grandchildren about Jesus!
ReplyDeleteHope she has fun!
It sounds like a fun weekend for sure! Enjoy. My granddaughter, Madison, spent the night with me last weekend. She is almost 4.
ReplyDeleteThat's exciting about the Girl Scouts sprucing up the S.S. rooms, too.
