George's Cherry Cobbler

In honor of President's Day, here is a recipe from The Nancy Drew Cookbook.  This book has so many wonderful recipes.  This particular one for George's Cherry Cobbler is very simple to make and is quite delicious.  I think I'll put this together Friday afternoon and bring over to my card game for dessert!

6 Tbs butter
1 c prepared biscuit mix
3/4 c sugar
1 c milk
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 21-oz can cherry pie filling

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Put the butter in a casserole dish and place in the oven to melt.  Combine biscuit mix, sugar, milk, cinnamon and cherry pie filling. Pour these ingredients into the casserole dish with the melted butter.  Bake for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden.  Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.  [Toast 1/2 c wheat germ in the oven for a few minutes and sprinkle over the whipped cream on each serving].
